Booking Terms
Last updated: [DATE]
These Booking Terms apply when you book an appointment with a barbershop through BarberDesk. Please read them before you confirm your booking.
Who you are booking with. Your appointment and any service you receive are provided by the barbershop, not by BarberDesk. BarberDesk provides the booking software the shop uses. Your contract for the service itself is with the barbershop directly. Any question, complaint, refund request, or dispute about the service, the prices, the shop's policies, or a charge should be raised with the barbershop.
Who BarberDesk is. BarberDesk is a platform operated by [COMPANY NAME] Ltd (company number [TBC]) that lets barbershops take bookings and, where the shop chooses, take deposits or charge for missed appointments. BarberDesk does not provide barbering services and is not responsible for them.
1. Making a booking
1.1 When you book, you select a service, a barber (if the shop offers a choice), and a time. You provide contact details so the shop can confirm and manage your appointment.
1.2 Your booking is an appointment request with the shop. The shop's booking confirmation completes the booking.
1.3 You are responsible for giving accurate contact details and for arriving on time for your appointment.
2. Deposits and payment
2.1 Some shops require a deposit at the time of booking. If a deposit applies, the amount and terms will be shown to you before you confirm. The deposit is taken by the shop through its payment provider.
2.2 Where a deposit is taken, it normally goes towards the price of your service. How any remaining balance is paid (for example, in person at the shop) is set by the shop.
2.3 You must be at least 18 years old to enter payment card details. If you are booking on behalf of someone else, or for a minor, the person entering the card details must be 18 or over and authorised to use the card.
2.4 All payments are processed securely by the shop's payment provider (Stripe). BarberDesk does not store your full card details.
3. Cancellations, late cancellations, and no-shows
3.1 Each shop sets its own cancellation window — the period before your appointment during which you can cancel free of charge. This window is shown to you when you book and when you manage your booking.
3.2 You can cancel or, where the shop allows it, reschedule your appointment using the link in your booking confirmation. If you cancel within the free cancellation window, you will not be charged a cancellation or no-show fee.
3.3 Late cancellations. If you cancel outside the free cancellation window — that is, closer to your appointment than the shop allows for a free cancellation — the shop may charge you a fee, because it may no longer be able to offer your slot to another customer. Where a shop applies this and it was made clear to you at booking, the fee is up to the full price of the booked service. Whether to apply this charge is at the shop's discretion.
3.4 No-shows. If you do not attend your appointment and did not cancel, the shop may charge you a no-show fee. Where a shop applies this and it was made clear to you at booking, the fee is up to the full price of the booked service. Whether to apply this charge is at the shop's discretion.
3.5 Any late-cancellation or no-show charge is applied by the shop and taken through its payment provider, using the card details you provided when booking. If you paid a deposit, the deposit is taken into account so that you are not charged more than the full price of the service in total. BarberDesk does not receive this money.
3.6 If you believe a charge was made in error, or you had a genuine reason for cancelling late or missing your appointment, contact the shop directly. The shop decides whether to refund. Where a refund is given, it is processed by the shop.
4. Your information
4.1 The barbershop is responsible for the personal information you provide when booking — it is the "controller" of that data. BarberDesk processes it on the shop's behalf as its "processor".
4.2 If you want to access, correct, or delete your booking information, or have questions about how it is used, contact the barbershop directly. You can find more detail in BarberDesk's Privacy Policy.
4.3 Some shops may use automated or AI-assisted messages to confirm, remind, or follow up on your booking. These are sent on the shop's behalf.
5. Liability
5.1 The barbershop is responsible for the service it provides to you. Any claim about the service itself is between you and the shop.
5.2 BarberDesk provides the booking software and is not liable for the service you receive, the shop's prices or policies, or the shop's decision to make or refund a deposit or no-show charge. Nothing in these Booking Terms removes any rights you have under law that cannot be excluded, including your consumer rights against the shop.
6. Changes to these Booking Terms
6.1 BarberDesk may update these Booking Terms from time to time. The version shown when you make a booking is the version that applies to that booking.
7. Contact
Questions about a specific booking, service, charge, or refund should go to the barbershop you booked with.
Questions about the BarberDesk platform can be sent to support@barberdesk.co.uk.
